Item Description

This Chester County Armory listing is for a seldom-seen variant of a Swedish Interdynamic AB MP-9, KG-9, or full-auto Intratec TEC-9 9x19mm NATO transferable machine pistol.

Originally designed by George Kellgren (the later founder of Kel-Tec Firearms), the TEC-9 design was one of the first US manufactured weapons to fully embrace the role polymer frames would play in future firearms. The majority of TEC-9 full-auto conversions that were made and registered in the 1980s in the US focused on registering the lower polymer receiver of the weapon. This particular design became problematic due to issues that could arise later with the polymer frame of the TEC-9 from heavy-use or too powerful of loadings, as the polymer frame was the physical weak point in strength. Crack the registered polymer frame, and the machine gun is now worthless. But leave it up to Tim LaFrance of LaFrance Specialties to come up with a simple, yet not-often-seen solution to this problem. LaFrance created this NFA machine gun by registering his strong, metal, upper receiver as the serialized component. This LaFrance Specialties model features a registered upper receiver that uses an Intratec TEC-9 lower as the host pistol. The NFA Form 3 paperwork for this model lists LaFrance Specialties as the manufacturer and KG9L as the model.

This fully transferable machine pistol is in excellent overall condition. Mechanically, it appears to have been fired very little, if at all. The internals and bolt group are solid, with no cracks, dents, dings, malformations, etc., and only minor wear markings on the rough edges of the bolt and cocking knob. The upper metal receiver is in excellent physical condition, with no concerns for the metalwork, either physically or cosmetically. The slightly glossy black finish is in wonderful shape, with only one small minor handling mark on the rear top section of the receiver tube. The pistol lower is also in excellent condition, with no markings or concerns, whatsoever, in the polymer frame. This pistol frame does not note any cosmetic concerns in the polymer, either.

This magnificent example of a full-auto TEC-9 is currently on a Form 3 for easy transfer. It will come with one 32 round original magazine.
